The itinerary

  • Day Day 1: Frankfurt

    Accommodation: 5-star Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, Frankfurt

    Check in to the 5-star Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in the heart of of the old town. Spoil yourself in the hotel spa or explore Frankfurt’s city centre with its unique blend of historic and towering modern architecture.

  • Day Day 2: Frankfurt to Oberwesel via Rudesheim am Rhine

    Accommodation: 4-star Burghotel auf Schönburg, Oberwesel

    Your car will be delivered to the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof Hotel in downtown Frankfurt. We’ll conduct a safety brief and run you through the features of your supercar. Once you’re comfortable, motor out of Frankfurt on the autobahn to the gateway to the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, Rudesheim. The vibrant old town oozes old world charm and with vineyards dotting the hills surrounding the village, the quick trip to the Germania monument in Seilbahn cable car is a must.

    From Rudesheim the road meanders along the eastern shore of the Rhine. The riverside is dotted with castles and crumbling fortresses broken up by quaint villages and riverside wine bars.

    Break for a late lunch at the outdoor café of the iconic Ehrenbreitstein Fortress towering above the Rhine and Mosel rivers as they meet alongside the historic city centre of Koblenz.

    After a lazy lunch in Koblenz, your tour winds its way along the upper reaches of the Rhine to the delightful village of Boppard, where you can sample some of the local specialties served up in in one of the local ‘weinstubes’.

    Spend the evening  relaxing in the luxurious castle hotel, Burghotel auf Schönburg in the unspoilt medieval village of Oberwesel.

  • Day Day 3: Oberwesel to Bernkastel-Kues via the Mosel & Trier

    Accommodation: 5-star Schloss Lieser, Lieser

    Continuing along the Rhine from Oberwesel, it’s only a short hop to what is commonly acknowledged as the prettiest village in the region – Bacharach. After a stroll around the quaint hamlet you’ll drive west to the turreted, 800-year-old Eltz Castle before your route intersects with the meandering Mosel River.

    Have lunch on the Mosel is in the magnificent riverside town of Cochem. Nestled on a scenic bend of the river, this settlement is brimming with half-timbered houses and cobblestoned alleyways all guarded over by a soaring neo-gothic castle.

    The afternoon continues along the scenic Mosel, stopping at picturesque towns like Taben-Trarbach before taking a well-earned break in the oldest city in Germany, Trier. A stone’s throw from Luxembourg, the old town is peppered with Roman ruins and traditional German beer cafes. What a perfect combination!

    Spend your evening at the 5-star Schloss Lieser. Set between the Mosel and its hill covered vineyards, this striking hotel with its own wienstube is the epitome of classic German luxury.

  • Day Day 4: Bernkastle-Kues to Heidelberg via the German Wine Road

    Accommodation: 5-star Europäischer Hof, Heidelberg

    Today is all about vineyards. The route ambles through wineries of the Nahe Valley before arriving at the thermal town of Bad Kreuznach. Following a coffee break and a wander through the famous bridge houses, the tour continues on to the start of the famous German Wienstrasse (Wine Road), Bad Durkheim. You will spend the afternoon in and around Neustadt, the heart of the Wienstrasse.

    After you’ve had your fill of the vineyards, wine bars and scenic villages, get back behind the wheel for a quick autobahn run to Heidelberg, the Baroque jewel of Baden-Wurttemberg.

    The evening is yours to enjoy, whether it be ambling along the Neckar River’s famous philosophers walk, people watching in the bustling café lined Market Square, experiencing Michelin starred fine dining or just unwinding in the spa and wellness centre in your 5-star oasis in the historic centre of Heidelberg, the Europäischer Hof.

  • Day Day 5: Heidleberg to Frankfurt via Mainz

    Accommodation: 5-star Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, Frankfurt

    Leaving Heidelberg after a lazy breakfast and a stroll along the shores of the Neckar, take a quick run up the autobahn back to the Rhine and the vibrant city of Mainz. Known as the ‘wine capital of Germany’, this eclectic, compact city is renowned for the vibrant and friendly atmosphere of its old town with its old town café’s, ‘wienstubes’ and local food and wine stalls.

    In the late afternoon the driving section of your tour ends when you return to the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in the centre of Frankfurt where your car will be collected by an Alps & Autobahns representative. Enjoy your evening exploring the myriad cultural and dining options on offer in the heart of Frankfurt.

  • Day Day 6: Frankfurt

    Enjoy a relaxing morning at the Steigenberger before departing Frankfurt at your leisure.
